Papaver Pollution
July 2023
as part of the duoshow ‘UIT ZICHT’ with Thomas Swinckels
Curated by Julia Fidder and Myriam Gras
Kunstpodium-T

Papaver Pollution was a sculptural installation made from synthetic materials, an integrated screen and light manipulation through colored filters. A micro-display inside the sculpture showed moving images of endoscopic recordings of the interior of the body, while colored filters on the windows manipulated the light and created an reversed echo-chamber. The work was created during a residency at Kunstpodium T, as part of a duo-exhibition with Thomas Swinkels, curated by Julia Fidder and Myriam Gras. The papaver plant from the garden of Kunstpodium-T served as the visual form of departure.
